Georgia: High Falls State Park
On our way to the campsite we enjoyed lunch at Buc-ee's. If you know, you know! It is more of a tourist spot than a gas station. Last spring we stayed a few nights in a GA State Parks on the way home to Michigan. We really enjoyed the spacious campsites, nature trails and abundance of trees. So natural and beautiful. This park did not disappoint. We arrived late afternoon and were pretty tired from the day of travel so relaxed and stayed around the camper. The next day we were feeling a bit more rested and ventured out on a morning hike to a waterfall. The hike was along the side of the largest waterfall south of Atlanta. It spanned over 135 feet. The trail was rocky forest along the banks of the river downstream of the falls. There were a few peeks of sunshine and Rosie loved getting in the water on the edge. After lunch at the camper we went on another 2.5 mile hike. This time was a peaceful, quiet walk through a hilly wooded area with a small stream and small waterfall. Met another couple from Michigan so that was fun to chat for a bit.
